Yoga

To me, yoga is the practice of body awareness. It’s not competition, it’s not about getting sore, and it’s not about flexibility. It’s about each moment that you are aware of your body and the space around you. Whether you’re laying, sitting, shopping, or moving you can be more aware and more comfortable with the sensations and feelings your body communicates to you. There is nothing more satisfying in my teach than seeing a student that started yoga struggling becoming more aware and comfortable with their full range of motion. I find the discovery of motion, the ease through holding to transition, the most beautiful thing about each person I teach.

You can join me on your yoga mat for power vinyasa classes. See my schedule for times and location.

My Journey into Yoga

I never considered taking yoga till I tagged along with my brother as part of his birthday gift from a friend. I was immediately drawn to it because I didn’t have to compete or interact with anyone. That might sound strange, but taking a hour to discard the inner monologue and not worrying about social interactions was perfect.

I stuck with the yoga and was gently talked into taking teacher training. I rarely take vacations so the two week RYT-200 certification training was my vacation. I still wasn’t sure if I would teach, but I took away a new descriptive word for myself, authenticity, and I decided being a teacher in the yoga community would help me explore that authenticity.
